KCTCS faculty and staff who have elected single healthcare coverage, or who have elected to waive out of the healthcare plan will have a $50 monthly allowance for benefits. This allowance may be used for health insurance premiums, dental insurance, health care flexible spending accounts, or the purchase of some **supplemental benefits** You must direct this allowance each year at open enrollment. |

**Supplemental benefits that may be purchased by the $50 benefit are AD&D insurance, Cancer insurance, Dental insurance, Individual Life Insurance policy (not group supplemental), Heart & Heart/Stroke insurance, Intensive Care insurance, Long Term Care insurance, Organ Transplant insurance, Short Term Disability insurance, Special Risk insurance, and Vision insurance. It cannot be used for the supplemental long term disability benefit.
