Regular full-time employees may purchase a supplemental long term disability policy. This policy supplements the group long term disability policy offered by KCTCS. This policy is paid on a post-tax basis. Premiums are paid directly to the carrier. All applications and questions shall be directed to the carrier.

Policy available on a guarantee issue basis to new hires. Any applications thereafter will be subject to underwriting by carrier.

Benefit available after 6 months of employment. Benefit for 403(b) retirees is 15% of salary with catastrophic benefit of 100% of salary. For KERS and KTRS retirement plan participants, the benefit is $500 per month with a catastrophic benefit of 100% of salary.
