Retirement income should come from numerous sources such as personal savings, social security, and workplace retirement plans.  KCTCS offers retirement benefits that will help you build long-term savings and sources of income after you retire and provide opportunities for you to plan for your future today. KCTCS offers four fabulous, retirement plan options for KCTCS personnel; it is mandatory that regular full-time employees participate in a retirement plan. To see which retirement plans you may participate in, based on the personnel system you are in click on the Retirement Plans link.
 
Employees may supplement their KCTCS basic retirement plan by making pre-tax contributions by payroll deduction to a supplemental plan on a voluntary basis. We have provided a link to financial planning tools that can help employees plan for retirement, figure the cost of additional retirement savings, calculate the cost for college savings, and life insurance needs.
 
The “What to do when I leave KCTCS?” link discusses separation, retirement procedures, and distributions from your retirement plan as well as a link to the Social Security website.
