Dear Friends:
Madisonville Community College has been changing lives for more than 35 years. I have had the
privilege of being a part of that change for twenty-two of those years, and I know firsthand that lives
are changed each semester in our region. As president, I am proud of the fact that we have kept our
promise of providing a better quality of life, a well-educated and trained workforce, and local economic
growth.
Our goal is to remain responsive; however, as a state-assisted institution, the College has many
demands placed on it that cannot be funded through state resources. Through comprehensive strategic
planning, we have identified a number of challenges facing the local constituency, and the College is
now ready to go to the next level. This is why I am so excited about our second major gifts campaign
-- Fulfilling the Promise.
The Fulfilling the Promise Campaign is a multi-year initiative that will have a permanent effect on educational endeavors throughout our six
counties. The title is appropriate because the campaign's four major objectives will focus primarily on endowment growth and gifts for current
program quality. Our current endowment investment provides the college with interest income that supports, among other things, the Arts
Center, scholarships, technology, and program development. Fulfilling the Promise intends to double our endowment investment and improve
the availability of post-secondary educational opportunities that area residents deserve.
I invite you to participate in Fulfilling the Promise as an investor and advocate. Your involvement will ensure our children and grandchildren have
access to the best possible future. On behalf of everyone at MCC, thank you for your support, friendship, and commitment.
Dr. Judith Rhoads, President
