The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) has approved a substantive change in governance proposal submitted by the University of Kentucky Community College System (UKCCS).
SACS' Commission on Colleges gave oral approval to the change in early December at a meeting in New Orleans. Formal notification of the approval will allow the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) to take over management of UKCCS.
Also, the Council on Occupational Education (COE) in November approved a change in governance for Kentucky Tech's postsecondary technical schools, which will join KCTCS and become technical colleges next July 1.
