ast fall, the Cabinet for Workforce Development and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System sponsored 13 meetings at which Kentucky Tech employees could pose questions about their transition to KCTCS.
This winter and spring, KCTCS and the University of Kentucky Community College System are sponsoring similar meetings for community college faculty and staff.
A team that included Dr. Nelson Grote, executive vice president of KCTCS, and Dr. Tony Newberry, CCS interim chancellor, visited Hazard Community College and the Lees College Campus of the college on Feb. 10.
From Feb. 23-25, similar meetings were conducted at the five community colleges in West Kentucky. Meetings eventually are planned for all community colleges, although some may not take place until springtime.
At the meetings, Newberry covers critical issues for the colleges, including accreditation, the search for a president, student financial aid, program collaboration, personnel transition planning, budget allocation and salary decisions, and services provided by UK.
A panel that includes Newberry, Grote and KCTCS board members answers questions from faculty and staff.
A summary of the questions and answers will be published at a later date.
