Other POD Opportunities Supported by KCTCS Funding

The System Office supports the strategic goal of providing POD opportunities for KCTCS faculty and staff. Many internal and external initiatives are available to enhance and support their discipline specific needs and the needs of the learning organization.

Purpose/Goal of the program:

KCTCS is committed to the improvement of the quality of programs and teaching methodology. KCTCS supports several internal initiatives including the Ashland Teaching & Learning Conference, the Ashland Staff Conference, the West Region Faculty Development Conference, the West Region Staff Development Conference, and the Jefferson CTCD Faculty & Staff Development Conference. Additionally KCTCS provides funding to support faculty and staff to participate in external initiatives such as the national NISOD (National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development), AAHE (American Association of Higher Education) conferences, AACC (American Association of Community Colleges) conferences, and other discipline specific seminars, conferences and workshops.

West Region Faculty Conf. - August every other year
West Region Staff Conf - August every other year
Jefferson CTCD Conference - August
NISOD - May

Who Can/Should Apply/Participate:

All KCTCS faculty & staff

Criteria for Selection:

Selection dependant on approval by committee; criteria based on how the request will benefit the strategic plan of the System, not just the individual.

Participant Obligations:

Participant required to submit a written request of goals and objective of the seminar/workshop, how it will benefit KCTCS, and how attendance will improve the quality of KCTCS as a whole.

Cost to Individual/Institution:

Funding to support request provided by grants and non-recurring funds from both the System and the college.
