David Day

David Day

David Day is a single father of a 10-year-old son. He currently attends both Southeast Community College in Cumberland Kentucky and the University of Virginia in Wise, Virginia. David is a working on a dual degree, majoring in Secondary Education (math) and Business Administration. He currently has a 3.97 grade point average and is due to complete his Education degree in the spring of 2003 and his Business degree in the fall of 2003.

David is currently employed at Southeast Community College as a Program Coordinator for the Southeast Scholars Program, an intervention program designed to aid at risk high school students in completing their secondary education and preparing for post secondary education opportunities. He is an active community volunteer, coaching area youth in soccer, basketball and football.

David credits his success and accomplishments through college to the assistance that Roland Cornett and the Ready-to-Work Program have given him. Furthermore, he states that without the Ready-to-Work program his achievements may not have been possible, or at best, would have been much more difficult to attain.
