TIPS FOR SEARCHING THE LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION
APPROVAL SYSTEM
How do I find out if an exam is approved?
Click
on http://www.gibill.va.gov/Education/LCweb/search.asp
Which Option Do I Choose
under "Search for Approved Organizations?"
-
"Organization by State": Use
this search option if you know you are looking
for a State Board Exam. If the Search Results do not list the
state board you are inquiring about, it may be
a national exam that the state board proctors. It is
important to know what organization created your exam NOT the organization
that proctored the exam.
-
"First Letter of
Organization:" Use this search option if you know the name of the
national organization that created your exam. Don't choose a specific
state unless you are sure the national organization's central headquarters
are located in that state.
-
"Keyword:" Use this
search option if you are not sure what organization offers your exam. If your keyword does not produce results, you will need to
get the specific name of the exam to confirm that your exam is approved.
Once I get to the
"Organizational Information" screen, where do I find the exams?
-
Double click on
"Licenses and Certifications" at the bottom of the page.
-
Choose the license or
certification name from the "Licensure and Certification List."
-
Make sure the cost of the
exam you are interested in and the cost of the exam listed are the same.
-
Double click on exam name to
look at description of the exam to confirm that it is the same exam you are
interested in.
-
If your license or
certification is not listed, go back to "Search Results" and look
for your license or certification under another organization.
Whom do I contact if my exam
is not approved or the
cost of the exam is different from the amount listed?
